Tips To Make Best Oven Baked French Fries.

Use right type of potatoes– As I have mentioned above and other posts like potato chips, potato wedges, you have to use the right type of potatoes for perfect oven baked french fries. Russet or yukon gold are your best bet.

Scrub thoroughly if you plan to keep the skin– I prefer to peel the skin for this recipe for uniform baking. Sometimes the potato skin tends to be very hard after frying or baking. However if you want to keep the sin, scrub it thoroughly using a veggie scrubber.

Slicing the potatoes for french fries- You can slice the potatoes into thick or thin sticks or fingers as per preference. Use a mandoline slicer if you have one. I use a knife and slice into thin sticks for crispier oven fries. You can slice the sticks to be of 1mm width.

Soak and rinse away the starch– After slicing the potatoes, soak them in cold water for 30 minutes. Rinse very well until all the starch is washed away and the water is clear. Spread on a plate and dry for 20 minutes. Now your sliced potatoes are ready to baked.
