What Is Chatpata Paneer?
chatpata means very flavorful, spicy and sour in Hindi. This paneer curry, as the name suggests is spicy, flavorful and slightly sour from the tomatoes.
The best part of this recipe is that you can make it in 20 minutes. This is a no grind recipe with minimum chopping. If you have paneer handy, this curry comes together in no time.
How To Make Paneer Chatpata?
There are many ways to make paneer chatpata recipe. Here I am sharing my way of making this curry. Along with paneer I like to add chopped capsicum and sometimes I also add baby corns.
To make chatpata paneer begin with chopping the veggies and paneer.
Heat oil in pan and temper with cumin seeds. Add ginger garlic and slit green chilies. Saute well.
Add the chopped onions and saute, followed by chopped tomatoes. Add amchur powder, coriander powder and red chili powder. Mix well. Add chopped capsicum, saute and cook till tomatoes turn mushy. Now add cubed paneer and toss quickly. Finally add garam masala powder and finish with lemon juice. Serve with a garnish of coriander leaves.
Recipe Notes and Tips
Along with coriander powder you can also use roasted cumin powder.

How To Make Paneer Chatpata Recipe Step by Step
Heat 3 teaspoons oil in a pan.
Temper with cumin seeds. Add slit green chili and minced ginger garlic. Saute well till the raw smell goes off.
Add the cubed onions and saute till they turn soft.
Next add the chopped tomatoes and mix well. Add amchur powder, coriander powder, salt and red chili powder. Mix well.

1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 3 teaspoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste or minced ginger garlic
- 2 green chilies slit
- 1 big onion cubed
- 2 large tomatoes chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon amchur powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 3/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- salt to taste
- 200 grams cubed paneer
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
