I usually have a block of homemade paneer handy to whip up quick side dish. While we love our paneer butter masala, palak paneer, kadai paneer or paneer lababdar, those curries tend up to a bot of work especially on weekdays. On days when you want a curry rich enough with paneer yet subtle and mild I make this pepper paneer recipe.
This is a easy curry with very basic spices with a generous touch of freshly pounded pepper powder. I have also added some bell peppers for crunch and color. You can just add onions too.

To make pepper paneer easily begin by pureeing two big tomatoes. Heat 2 tablespoons oil or ghee in a pan. Temper cumin seeds and saute onions, ginger garlic. Add the cubed peppers and saute quickly. Add the tomato pure and saute. Next in goes the spice powders and salt. Cook for 5-8 minutes. Add a generous dose of freshly pounded pepper powder. Mix well and cook. Add the cubed paneer and toss quickly. Serve 🙂
What Goes Well With Pepper Paneer?
You can serve this pepper paneer with roti, jeera rice, poori or use it as filling for sandwich and wrap. This can also be served as snack for toddlers and kids.

How To Make Pepper Paneer Recipe Step by Step
Puree 2 large tomatoes. Cube the bell peppers, onion and paneer.
Heat 2 tablespoons oil or ghee in a pan. Temper with cumin seeds.
Add cubed onions and saute well. Next add ginger garlic, slit green chili and saute thoroughly.
Now add the cubed peppers and mix well. Saute till they wilt a bit.
Now add the tomato puree and mix well. Cook for 6-8 minutes till the tomato puree gets well cooked.
Add the turmeric powder and cumin powder. Mix well and saute. Season with salt.
Now add pepper powder and mix well. Add the cubed paneer and toss. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with cilantro leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot.

- 2 big tomatoes

- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste or minced ginger garlic

- 1 cup cubed bell peppers mixed colors or green
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoom turmeric powder
- 1.5 teaspoons pepper powder
- salt to taste
- 200 grams cubed paneer
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves
