This tawa paneer is a very easy no frills paneer curry you can make in 30 minutes. This is a no grind paneer curry that comes together in if you have paneer handy.
In restaurants and dhaba, tawa paneer is made in big griddle or cast iron tawa in heat. The high heat gives a wonderful smoky flavor to the curry.
While making at home you can use a tawa if you have one. In the absence of tawa you can easily use any good quality pan for this recipe. Here I have made the recipe in a tawa similar to tawa pulao, pav bhaji.
To make tawa paneer I suggest you use homemade paneer for best results. If you use store bought paneer, just thaw it to room temperature before adding to the tawa masala.
Making tawa paneer is really simple as we use only spice powders for flavoring. This is a no grind recipe made with dry spice powders. We are also adding some capsicums along with onions and tomatoes for some crunch.
While serving tawa paneer you can garnish with ginger julienne and chopped coriander leaves. Also add some lemon juice just before serving.
You can serve tawa paneer masala with roti, phulkas, naan, jeera rice, toasted pav or even bread. You can also serve this paneer curry as snack to toddlers and kids.
Also while making for kids make sure to adjust the spice level according to their tolerance. You can also try using pepper powder instead of red chili powder.
Usually paneer recipes are much loved by kids and you can add few paneer pieces in masala or curry recipe for some protein.
