Variations With Wheat Dosa Recipe.
This godhuma dosa can be prepared in many different ways. By just changing few ingredients you can vary the falvor each time.
- To make soft wheat dosa for elders you can leave out rice flour and rava in this recipe. Dosa with plain wheat flour turns out really soft.
- Instead of adding onions and green chilies you can add some crushed pepper and cumin seeds along with curry leaves.
- To get slight sour taste in the batter you can add 1/4 cup buttermilk. Do not use lemon juice or lime juice instead of butter milk.
- Also you make spongy thick dosa by making the batter a bit thick.
This wheat flour dosa recipe yields really crispy dosa as we are adding some rice flour and rava here. These crispy dosas are very flavorful and delicious and liked by all.
Some Tips For Making Golden And Crispy Wheat Dosa:
- Adding rava really helps in making crispy godhuma dosa.
- You can also add 1 tablespoon curd to the batter. Adding curd gives a nice golden color to the dosa.
- Use good quality thick cast iron pan that is well seasoned.
- This dosa takes some time to cook and turn crispy. Pout the batter with a ladle and let cook for 30-45 seconds until the edges turn crispy.
- Cook the dosa in medium low flame for even golden color.
Wheat dosa tastes best when served hot. I would not pack this in tiffin as it will turn hard and chewy. You can serve godhuma dosa with tiffin sambar, chutney or idli podi.
