Aloo paneer is a quick, delicious and satiating paneer side dish. If you are looking for easy no grind paneer recipes, this potato with paneer is a good choice. Aloo paneer is quick to make, tastes delicious and a versatile side dish. You can serve it with rice, roti, sandwich between breads or use it in frankies. Here is how to make best aloo paneer at home!

Dry aloo paneer served with roti

This aloo paneer dry curry is a quick and hearty side dish that I often make. Both paneer and potatoes are kids favorite and very good for growing kids.

Oftentimes My kid eats quietly if there is potato or paneer in the menu 🙂 Given that both potatoes and paneer are good for growing kids I make a dish with these ingredients at least once in a week for her.

This aloo paneer curry is a simple side dish that gets ready in 15 minutes. Nothing fancy here yet tastes very delicious, hearty and easy to make too.

So this curry is a win win for us easy, healthy and tasty! You can also make capsicum paneer, paneer stir fry, tawa paneer when you need quick side dish.

I have tasted paneer aloo masala in restaurants few times. It tastes just like paneer butter masala with potatoes. Butter and cream laden heavy curry with paneer and potato cubes.

But this paneer aloo recipe is different. It is a dry curry that you can pack in lunch or use as sandwich filling or use for making wrap. If you want a change from heavy paneer curries this is a very nice recipe that takes only 20 minutes and no grinding required.

This aloo paneer curry tastes best with jeera rice, plain paratha, tandoori roti and poori. I also use it for making sandwiches, while making wraps and frankies.

This Aloo Paneer Recipe Is

Kid friendly, healthy and delicious.

I make this potato paneer in many ways. Along with potatoes I sometimes add cubed carrots, peppers or corn.

Also this recipe does not use boiled potatoes. You can just cube and cook the potatoes directly. It is a very quick and handy recipe for weekdays.

What other veggies can be added along with potatoes in aloo paneer?

You can add cubed bell peppers, carrots, baby corn, broccoli, mushrooms in this curry. You can also add some boiled chickpeas for more hearty curry.

Also You can also add tomatoes but the curry will turn mushy and texture will change. If you like your curries semi dry you can definitely add tomatoes

What are spices we need for making aloo paneer?

Actually there is no fixed set of spices for making this curry. You can just add whichever spice combination you like. I usually add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala and coriander powder.

You can add pepper powder instead of red chili powder while making for kids. Also some roasted cumin powder will be god. For more zing you can add a dash of chaat masala powder, especially if making kathi rolls with this.
