Are you team smoothie for breakfast? I am not a big fan of sweet breakfasts but once in a while I like to whip up a power smoothie or shake for a quick breakfast, especially when in a hurry.
In this recipe two classics- chocolate smoothie and strawberry smoothie come together for a tastier and more decadent drink!

This chocolate strawberry smoothie is a wonderful drink which is super delicious as well as super healthy.
The ingredients we use for this smoothie are all clean and real ingredients, making this drink one of the healthiest drink out there.
It gets ready in 5 minutes, can be made easily in a blender or mixer grinder. Tastes delicious when served cold.
I have topped the smoothie with mixed seeds and this improves the nutrition even more.

Strawberries– Use ripe and sweet strawberries for best results. I like to use fresh berries for strawberry smoothie during season. I also have a stash of frozen strawberries handy and use it sometimes.
If you are using frozen berries, just add them to the blender as such, no need to thaw.
Cocoa powder– I have added unsweetened Dutch processed cocoa powder in this recipe. For healthier option you can also add cacao powder in this smoothie recipe.
Make sure to use unsweetened cocoa powder. You can also add your favorite hot chocolate powder.
Protein powder– This is one ingredient I use on and off. I add it while making smoothie if I have it handy and remember to use 🙂 I usually add 1 tablespoon per serving. Use any of your preferred brand.
Banana– A small banana makes this chocolate smoothie super rich, thick and creamy. Use fresh or frozen banana as you like.
Almond milk– For the base of this smoothie, I have used homemade almond milk. You can use any type of milk like cashew milk, soy milk or coconut milk.
Dairy milk will also taste very good in this recipe.
If you like you can use flavored milks like chocolate almond milk, chocolate cashew milk in this recipe. If you use chocolate flavored milks, just reduce the quantity of cocoa powder.
Sweetener– I have used organic raw sugar for this recipe. You can also use coconut sugar, regular sugar or maple. If the sweetness from banana and berries are good enough for you, you can skip adding sweeteners.
How To Make The Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie Recipe?
Let us begin by preparing the fresh strawberries. Rinse, wipe and hull the berries. If you prefer you can slice them into halves. If you are using frozen berries, just add 1 cup frozen strawberries as such.
Add chopped banana, hulled berries in a blender jar.
Add milk, sugar.
Next add protein powder, cocoa powder.
Blend until smooth.
Transfer strawberry chocolate smoothie to a serving glass and add some mixed seeds. Serve immediately.
Instead of regular almond milk you can use chocolate or even strawberry flavored ones
If you like you can add a scoop of chocolate or strawberry ice cream while blending the smoothie.
You can totally make this smoothie without milk. Just add 1/2 cup water or coconut water while blending. Coconut water will taste good in most of the smoothies.
While serving you can top with chocolate covered strawberries to make it more special. It makes for a wonderful valentine s day treat.
You can follow any of your favorite strawberry smoothie recipe and just add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder.

Use a high power blender to make creamy smoothie.
You can add few ice cubes to the thicken the smoothie if you like.
To make a super thick smoothie you can 2 teaspoons chia seeds or 1 tablespoon oats while blending. Add all the ingredients and blend until smooth. You can do this for all smoothies.
For intense chocolate flavor you cam add 1 tablespoons chocolate sauce or spread along with all the ingredients.
For a rich flavor you can add 1 tablespoon almond butter while blending.
