Strawberry Toast

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Strawberry toast recipe is a quick, easy & delicious after school snacks or breakfast for toddlers and kids. With fresh strawberry compote on milk dipped bread toast, this is such a hearty snack after an eventful day at school. You can make strawberry toast in many ways and here is how I make it. Our favorite one with fresh berries during season!

Strawberry Toast

We are big on bread toasts at our home. I mostly have homemade made bread in hand and toasts are really easy. We indulge on toasts like milk toast, savory french toast, egg free french toast, cheese toast for snacks occasionally.

This strawberry toast is a best recipe when you want to fix some quick evening snack for kids. Instead of store bought jam this easy compote on toast is more hearty & healthy.

While growing up we used to enjoy sweet milk toast with homemade tomato jam. This strawberry toast is a nod to that childhood favorite with just strawberries instead of tomatoes. The flavor of this compote is too good and just screams berries.

You can make this toast as rich or simple as you want. You will find some variations and ideas as you read on.

Serve strawberry toast as breakfast or snack with flavored milk like badam milk, pistachio milk, saffron milk.

Tastes delicious & hearty

Best after school snack for kids

Easy strawberry toast

To make strawberry toast first we will prepare an easy five minutes strawberry compote. I like to add few chopped and few whole berries for this compote for chunky texture.

I usually keep this compote very simple with strawberries and a dash of sugar. You can add lemon juice to round off the flavors or a splash off vanilla. I like to keep it simple and let the berries shine.

If you have any strawberry sauce or homemade jam handy, you can use it too.

Which bread is best for making strawberry toast?

For making toast you can use kind of bread. This time around I have used homemade white bread. I made it as a milk toast without sugar and topped with strawberry compote.

You can also use wheat bread, multigrain bread or baguette. Even halved pav will be good here.

What other variations can I do with this strawberry toast?

while making the compote you can add a splash of vanilla or cinnamon for varied flavor.

Instead of fresh berries you can use dried or frozen berries too.

While serving you can top with unsweetened whipped cream or hung curd.
