Refreshing Rose Lemonade

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Make this refreshing rose lemonade with just four ingredients to beat the heat. This lemonade is pretty in pink with a wonderful flavor and makes for a perfect summer welcome drink. The best part is you can make a big pitcher full of this pink lemonade and sip it all day 🙂 Here is how to make rose lemonade easily at home.

Chilled rose lemonade served with lemon slices

Lemonades are that perfect summer drink for summers. If you are bored with regular lemonade there are any floral and fruity ones you can try. I particularly love to make mint lemonade, strawberry lemonade, mango lemonade often along with this pink one.

With just four ingredients and five minutes you can make this drink. In fact the kids can make this for them and their friends and enjoy after hours of holiday fun. Just have loads of ice cubes and chilled water ready.

This rose lemonade or rose sharbat as we called it was a top favorite while growing up. Homemade rose syrup was always there in my mom’s kitchen so it was easy to fix a helping of chilled rose milk or this sharbat in  no time Actually we used to make this when milk was not available 🙂

Mixing up spoons of homemade rose syrup into water and watching it turn pink was an absolute amusement. Sometimes a pinch of cardamom powder will be added for flavor.

Served with loads of ice cubes this rose sharbat was such a bliss during summers.

To make this rose lemonade you will need rose syrup. I made a batch of homemade rose syrup last week and used it here. You can also use store bought rose syrup. As rose syrup already has sugar , I have not added more sugar in this recipe.

We like our pink lemonade a bit tart so I have used the juice of two large lemon for 3 servings. It is about two tablespoons of lemon juice per serving. You can easily reduce it to suit your taste. Also a pinch of cardamom powder will add flavor and round off the taste.

How To Make Pink Lemonade

Extract juice from 2 big lemons into a mixing bowl.

lemon juice

To that add 6 tablespoons rose syrup.

What If I don't Have Rose Syrup?

If you don’t have rose syrup you can use either one of these

  • rose water and sugar, the flavor will be very good but no color
  • Rose essence and sugar
  • roof afza
  • organic rose petals muddled with sugar.
Flavor Variations

In this recipe of pink lemonade I have added cardamom powder for flavor. You can also add crushed ginger and mint leaves. For a sweeter note add vanilla extract. I have also made this rose sharbat many times with some saffron strands, it tastes really yum.

If you prefer a fizzy drink you can replace plain water with soda water. Also you can add liquor of choice in this recipe.

Frozen Pink Lemonade.

Prepare the recipe as mentioned. Transfer to a freezer safe container and freeze for 2 hours. Once frozen slightly scrape well with a fork and serve as required.

Make More With Rose Lemonade

Once you make this rose lemonade you can serve it as such chilled or use it in fruit punch or other margarita recipes instead of water. Also you can freeze this lemonade as small ice cubes and add while serving any fruity drink. Also you can make sharbat popsicles.
