You can add carrots, beans, peas, corn etc in this khichdi recipe. On the other hand you can make this recipe totally without veggies or just onions and tomatoes.
Serve oats khichdi piping hot with curd, pickle or papad. You can serve this to babies over 9 months, toddlers and kids. While making for babies make it slightly mushy by adding more water.

How To Make Oats Khichdi Recipe Step by Step
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pressure cooker. Temper with cumin seeds, minced ginger garlic, curry leaves. Add chopped onions and saute well.
Next add the chopped mix vegetables and saute well.
Add measured and rinsed moong dal and oats. Mix well.
Add water and season with salt and turmeric powder. Close the lid and pressure cook for 4-6 whistles. Once done add chopped cilantro leaves and lemon juice.
Mix well and serve hot.

HEALTHY OATS KHICHDI RECIPE
1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 inch minced ginger
- 2 cloves garlic peeled and minced
- 10 curry leaves
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1/2 cup chopped beans
- 1/2 cup corn kernels
- 1/2 cup moong dal
- 1 cup rolled oats or quick cooking oats
- 3 cups water
- salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves
Instructions
