But once I made this masala paal at home I never bought those milk masala powder from shops. You can whip up delicious badam milk in no time with this powder instead of badam kheer too. Masala milk is a family favorite and I often make it during winter evenings. This masala milk powder will make the regular masala milk even healthier. Addition of nuts and saffron makes this masala milk powder a power packed one. This masala dhoodh powder is a great source of nutrition for growing toddlers and kids. When making for them you can make it into a fine powder without specs of nuts if you wish.
What is added in masala milk powder if you ask me, I would say some basic spices and nuts of your choice. Saffron can be added for some nice flavor and health benefits too. I prefer to add saffron. Saffron is expensive and one should know to procure original saffron properly. So another option is to add turmeric powder instead of saffron. I however add both saffron and turmeric powder for their health benefits.

To make masala milk powder we need almonds, pistachios, cashews, grated nutmeg, cardamom pods, milk powders, saffron, turmeric powder. I have added raw cane sugar in this masala milk powder recipe.
Now to make masala milk with this homemade masala milk powder:
Bring milk to a boil.
Add 3 teaspoons masala milk powder to 1 cup of milk and stir well. You can adjust sugar if needed.
Serve hot or chill and serve as per taste.
I also use this masala milk powder in badam kheer, cookies, cakes, kheer, kulfi recipes. I also add a pinch of it while making saffron milk.
This masala dhoodh powder keeps well for a month when stored airtight at room temperature. It keeps well for 2-3 months in refrigerator.

How to make masala milk powder recipe with step by step photos.
Dry roast all the three nuts until fragrant. You can also keep the nuts under sun for 2-3 hours if possible.
In the same pan roast the saffron for 10 second. Set aside
In the same pan roast peppercorns for 1-2 minutes.
Let everything cool thoroughly.
Take all the ingredients mixer jar and grind to a coarse powder. I like to make a coarse powder so that some specs of nuts are there. You can also make a fine powder. Pulse and grind at regular intervals else nuts may become greasy.
To make masala milk, add this powder to the boiled milk, stir well and serve. You can also add a pinch of this powder while making saffron milk, cardamom milk etc.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup pistachios
- 1 1/4 cup raw cane sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk powder
- 15 black peppercorns
- 15 green cardamoms
- 1 teaspoons grated nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon saffron
- 1 teaspoons turmeric powder
Instructions
