We love fresh fruit juices and especially during summer I make plenty of agua fresca. Usually I prepare a big pitcher full of this drink in variety of flavors. Easy to make, healthy and hydrating you will totally love this drink.
During season we go through lots of watermelon at our home. It is literally a savoir from heat. I often prepare a cooling salad, popsicles, ice cream, juice and this agua fresca with watermelon. We especially love this agua fresca with a touch of mint leaves.

To make watermelon agua fresca you just need fresh watermelon, sugar, some mint leaves and water. Instead of water you can also use coconut water.
You just need to peel, remove the seeds and coarsely chop the melon. Combine chopped melon, sugar to taste and water in a blender jar. Blend until smooth and serve with loads of ice cubes 🙂
I have added few mint leaves for flavor. Adding mint leaves lends a very refreshing taste and flavor to this drink. Instead of mint leaves you can fresh basil leaves or even lemon juice.
I have used organic dark green variety here which is more sweet and juicy. Always use tender and fresh water melon. If the melon is very matured it will be dry and you will have to add more water while making the drink.
If your watermelon is very sweet, you don’t have to add any sugar in this recipe. But while making for guests or kids, adding a dash of sugar makes the drink very tasty. i have added just three teaspoons organic raw sugar for three servings. You can easily skip it or add more. You can also use coconut sugar, palm sugar or regular sugar.
For a detox drink that is more flavorful and healthy you can use coconut water instead of plain water. Also the quantity of water or coconut water is totally variable. You can add more or less water as per your liking. I usually make this drink a bit thin so use more water.
How To Make Watermelon Agua Fresca
As mentioned, you just need three simple ingredients and some water for this drink. This is a very simple recipe that you can make with blender or mixer grinder. If you have juicer you can use it too.
Instead of watermelon you can use honeydew melon, yellow melon or musk melon too in this recipe.
Peel, remove the seeds and chop the melon coarsely.
Add chopped fruit, sugar to a blender jar.
Add water and mint leaves. Mix very well.
Transfer to serving glass and serve with lots of ice cubes.

Turn It Into Popsicle
To attract kids you can just pour this drink in popsicle moulds and freeze for 8-10 hours. These popsicles will be a refreshing mid day treat for kids.
You can add a dash of vodka or any other liquor to make a refreshing cocktail. You can also add carbonated water for a fizzy drink.
With Coconut Water
As I have mentioned above you can add chilled coconut water instead of plain water.
