About This Recipe
Banana milkshake is a delicious, creamy and rich drink made with ripe sweet bananas, sweetener of choice and some milk as main ingredients.
You can add in a scoop or two of your favorite ice cream like vanilla ice cream or butterscotch and make it more indulgent. Given how bananas themselves make the milkshake super creamy and thick, I have just add 3 tablespoons per serving cream alone and skipped ice cream here.
I have used frozen milk here as it yields really good banana shake. To make milkshake creamy and thick use frozen milk especially if you are not using ice cream.
To make banana milkshake that is thick and creamy it is important to get the fruit to milk ratio right. If you add too much milk, shake will become very diluted, too much fruit will alter the taste.
To get that rich, café style taste and flavor please follow the proportions as given in the recipe. You can add any flavor you like here but I usually stick to cinnamon or vanilla as they go really well with bananas.
While you can top the milkshake with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream, I mostly serve it as such. With wonderful sweet ripe bananas, you really don’t have to do much 🙂

Tips To Make Perfect Milkshake
Use frozen milk for super thick, cold milkshakes. Frozen milk makes the milkshake creamy too. Adding ice cubes usually thin down the shake, so if you want cold shake that is thick as well use frozen milk.
Next chill the fruit thoroughly before blending. In usually cut the fruits and freeze it for an hour before blending for creamy consistency and rich textures.
Always taste the fruit before using in milkshakes as some fruits tend be very tart or unripe.
You can freeze the serving glasses for a while before adding milkshakes to them.
To make vegan banana milkshake just use any vegan cream or coconut cream, vegan ice cream or plant based milk like almond milk or coconut milk.
