Avocado toast is a healthy and easy toast recipe made with mashed or finely chopped avocado and few other herbs. The veggies and herbs you include in the topping are completely random and you can add whatever you like.
I usually use guacamole as topping for this toast or make a simple avocado-tomato-onion-cilantro-cheese mix with salt, pepper and lemon juice and use it to make avocado cheese toast.
The cheese I have used here is vegan mozzarella that my friend gifted me. Though I liked the flavor it did have the stretch and feel much, but it was good. You can regular mozzarella, five cheese, cheddar or any of your favorite one. I also used vegan butter as I served this with a vegan friend as well.

How To Make Avocado Toast Recipe
Finely chop the avocado, tomato and onions.
Mix the veggies together with required salt, pepper.
and 1/2 cup grated cheese.
Add chopped cilantro leaves, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and mix well.
Now butter a bread slice well on both sides. Spread a generous portion of prepared topping and press gently.
Toast the bread slice on a hot tava until the cheese melts.
Here are some delicious avocado toast variations that you might enjoy.
Tomato basil avocado toast– To make this variation just top some fresh tomato slices and few torn basil leaves to the toast before serving.
Mixed vegetable toast with avocado– Along with chopped tomatoes and onions you can add some finely chopped bell peppers, corn kernels and grated carrots. It makes for a wonderful wholesome toast.
Pickled avocado toast– After you make the toast, top it with any of your favorite pickle or relish like pickled red onions.
Pizza flavored avo toast– This is a super simple variation but a very delicious and moreish. Add 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes to the avocado tomato and mix well.
Mashed avocado toast– For this variation just mash the avocado until smooth and then add the chopped onions, tomatoes and cheese.
Avocado mayo toast– Mix 1/2 cup vegan or regular mayo with avocado and mix well. Use this avocado spread and make the recipe.
Sesame avocado toast- After topping the bread with avocado mixture top it generously with sesame seeds and toast. It lends a wonderful nutty taste and crunchy texture.
Few other bonus variations would be topping the toast with crumbled goat cheese before serving, add 1/4 cup cream cheese to the avocado mixture, adding few paneer cubes or halloumi before toasting.
Tips To Make Perfect Toast Recipe
Avocados– To make best avocado toast make sure you pick up the perfect avocado. For this toast you want avocado that is ripe yet a bit firm. You should be able to chop them finely as seen in the photos.
If you press the avocado should give in slightly but it should not be mushy. Mushy ones are best for making milkshakes, mousse recipes.
Bread– You can use any variety of bread for this avocado toast recipe. As I have used cheese that needs melting, I am toasting the bread along with the topping. You can easily toast the bread first and add avocado topping without cheese and serve.
Butter the bread generously for wonderful flavor. If you want you can use dairy butter too here. Use can olive oil or coconut oil too.
Red onions lend a wonderful sharp flavor and compliments the buttery taste and flavor of avocados. If you find the flavor very sharp you can use yellow or white onions too in the avocado mixture.
If you like you can add 2 cloves minced garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for flavor.
After making the toast you can add a dash of flaky sea salt for wonderful taste and flavor.
