Apple milkshake is a delicious, quick and easy shake with fresh seasonal apples. With seasonal fresh apples, a splash of milk and sugar, this apple shake is just perfect breakfast or snack. Just 4 ingredients and five minutes are all you need to make this healthy beverage.

Perfect Apple Milkshake For Breakfast!

I love to add a healthy smoothie or milkshake in breakfast especially for my kid who detests plain milk. Fresh seasonal apples have started to appear in the markets and I have been making this apple milkshake for breakfast for my kid often.

This apple shake is so easy to make, just three main ingredients are what you need. Cored apples, sugar and milk that’s it.

There are so many variations you can make with this apple shake recipe but the main recipe is this, so simple, so humble yet yum!

Milkshakes are my most favorite drinks ever. I can have them everyday irrespective of the season. Classic mango milkshake, strawberry shake, chickoo shake are few of my favorites.

Of course for occasional indulgence we ave vanilla, chocolate, almond milkshakes 🙂

During apple season we have an apple cure at home. Apples are one of the healthiest fruits but unfortunately they are also the most chemically treated with wax coatings.

So I buy only organic seasonal Kashmir apples from late August through September. With gorgeous crisp and juicy apples we thoroughly enjoy many delicacies like apple muffins, apple salad, apple crumble, apple kheer, cinnamon apple cake, jam and one among them is this tasty apple milkshake.

I keep this recipe as base and make many variations with this apple milkshake recipe. Just by varying flavorings you can make this apple shake in so many ways.

Serve apple milkshake as soon as you make it. I do not recommend storing this or any milkshake for long time in fridge.

Which Apples Are Best For Milkshake?

To make this apple milkshake choose sweet ripe apples. If your apples are ripe and sweet you can add less sugar.

Apples are one of those fruits that are heavily treated with chemicals and wax coated to increase shelf life. So I usually buy only organic apples during season.

Here I have used Kashmir apples for this apple milkshake. You can also use Kinnaur or Shimla apples. For my US readers you can use red delicious apples in this recipe. Tart apples like green apples do not go well in this shake.

Which Sweetener Goes Well In This Shake?

You can use any of your preferred sweetener like sugar, honey, coconut sugar or palm sugar. Sometimes I also use dates syrup in this recipe.

Which Milk Is Best For Milkshake?

I always use full fat cows milk for my milkshakes. Milkshakes are one of the best ways to include milk and fruits in kids diet.

Fruit based milkshakes are healthy as well as delicious. Though milk and fruit combination may cause indigestion in few people, you have no reason to worry if it goes well with you.

I mean there is no hard and fast rule like milk and fruits should not be combined. It always differs from one person to other and if you are not lactose intolerant or have digestive issues then you can enjoy milkshakes as often as you want 🙂

However if you are vegan or just want to avoid dairy milk you can make an excellent vegan apple milkshake by using almond milk or soy milk or coconut milk.

For this recipe I recommend almond milk for taste and flavor. If you don’t have almond milk you can blanch a handful of almonds,peel, grind with a cup of water, strain and use.

For flavoring I have used cardamom powder. You can also use cinnamon, one of the most popular combo with apples or even vanilla.

Along with apples you can also use nuts like cashews, apples or pistachios.

Always serve apple milkshake as soon as you make it. For chilled apple shake you can use some ice cubes while blending or chill the milk beforehand.

Step By Step Method

Peel, core and cube the apples.

To a blender jar add few almonds, apple cubes and sugar.

Blend to a very smooth paste,

Top with chilled milk, I also added a teaspoon of fresh cream.

Blend again until smooth and frothy.

Serve apple shake with a touch of cocoa powder if desired.

Tips & Notes

  • Use sweet apples for naturally sweet apple milkshake
  • If your apples are not very sweet, you can serve apple milkshake with a drizzle of honey or dates syrup.
  • Use frozen milk for creamy apple milkshake.
  • You can double this apple shake recipe too.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples peeled, cored and cubed
  • 2.5 cups milk boiled, cooled and chilled.

  • 15 almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or cardamom powder
  • few ice cubes
